Heroes

We have been discussing heroes in our class. We are reading Dear America books that have a similar theme, an individual overcoming challenges during a difficult historical time period. To help guide our discussion of heroes we have agreed upon using the following definition of hero by author T.A. Barron. Baron writes in The Hero's Trail, "A hero is someone who, faced with a tough challenge, reaches down inside and finds the courage, strength, and wisdom to triumph."

Hero Survey

We conducted a survey of people in our community. We asked two questions.

1. Do you have a hero, if so who is it?

2. What quality do most heroes have in common: courage, faith, perseverance, adaptability, or moral direction?
